Simulations

The simulation learning environment of Seinäjoki University of Applied Sciences consists of two simulation classes, two simulation teaching cabins and two debriefing rooms. Simulation learning environments are particularly well suited for different learning situations of technical and non-technical skills in nursing. Simulation classes may include simulations of acute nursing, perioperative nursing, medical-surgical nursing, gerontological nursing, mental health and substance abuse nursing, palliative nursing and paediatric nursing.

The simulation classes use Gaumard and AiSimulate simulator dolls – both fixed and mobile cameras and microphones can be used in these simulations. Simulation teaching facilities can also be used for tailored training for different groups.

The simulation environment also includes a joint online simulation, which is implemented in cooperation between SeAMK and Satakunta University of Applied Sciences (SAMK) in gerontological nursing studies. Other universities of applied sciences have also joined the activities, such as Tampere University of Applied Sciences (TAMK), Häme University of Applied Sciences (HAMK), Turku University of Applied Sciences and Lapland University of Applied Sciences. The University of Turku and SataEdu have also been involved in the activities. Joint online simulation takes place in Teams, and you can also participate in it as a viewer.
